My name is Mert. I moved to Hamburg in 2018 and this city has had my heart ever since. There is always something new around the corner, a hidden spot, a local event, something worth sharing. Last year I built Franzbrötchen, a city super app for Hamburg, and the warm response made me want to do even more.

Not everything fits into an app though. Some things need a bit more room. That’s what this newsletter is for.

In Alsterrunde, I’ll share what’s been catching my eye around the city, what’s happening in Hamburg, and what I’m working on behind the scenes in Franzbrötchen.

The name comes from one of the most Hamburg things I know, a walk around the Alster. Just like I named my app after my favourite local pastry, I wanted this newsletter to feel rooted in the city too.
